Danske Bank buys Swedish  real-estate agency business

Danske Bank Sweden has acquired Skandia Mäklarna, a Swedish real-estate agency business. Skandia Mäklarna is one of the largest real-estate agency businesses in Sweden with 300 employees and 70 local offices. In 2004, the business handled 6,000 sales transactions of a total value of more than SKr7bn.

“Danske Bank is the fastest growing full-service bank in Sweden,” says Mats Torstendahl, Senior Executive Vice President of Danske Bank Sweden. “The new activities will further sharpen Danske Bank’s strong real-estate profile and form an excellent basis for additional growth in the Swedish market.”

Danske Bank is represented in Sweden by 14 regional banks with nearly 60 branches.
